Keyword Position Checker API
Two honest routes to programmatic Google rank data.
Looking for a keyword position checker API? Here’s the straight answer: KRC doesn’t sell its own API — it’s a free front end built on the DataForSEO SERP API, and if you need programmatic rank data, that same API is almost certainly what you want. This page explains both routes.
Option 1: You need rank data in your own code
Go directly to DataForSEO’s Google Organic SERP endpoints. You get JSON responses with positions, ranking URLs and SERP features, priced per request at wholesale rates. That’s the same data source powering many commercial rank trackers — including this one. Typical workflow:
- Create a DataForSEO account and grab API credentials
- POST your keyword, location code and language code to the live or standard SERP endpoint
- Parse the returned positions and store what you need — most languages take a dozen lines
Option 2: You want the results without writing code
If what you actually need is the output — live positions for a list of keywords, in a specific country or city, exportable to CSV — the Keyword Rank Checker app is that API call with a UI on top. Single and bulk checks, 190+ countries, no signup, billed at the same raw API rate.
Which should you pick?
- Building a product or internal dashboard? Use DataForSEO directly.
- Doing SEO work — audits, client reports, position checks? Use KRC and skip the integration work.
- Both? Plenty of users prototype queries in KRC, then replicate them via API with the same location codes.
Either way you avoid the subscription markup: the data costs a fraction of a cent per query, and now you know it.
