How to get cited
How to get your site into Google's AI Overviews
- Rank on page one first. AI Overviews mostly cite pages that already rank well for the query or closely related ones. Track those positions with the rank checker.
- Answer the question in the first lines. A clear, quotable answer near the top of the page is easier for Google to lift into a summary.
- Cover the follow-up questions. Overviews pull from pages that handle the related questions too. Use the "People also ask" box in the SERP checker as your outline.
- Earn mentions on the cited sources. If the Overview keeps citing the same review sites or guides, getting featured there gets you into the answer.
- Re-check regularly. Overviews change often. Re-run the same keywords every few weeks and compare.

What is a Google AI Overview?
An AI-generated summary Google shows at the top of some search results. It answers the query directly and links to a handful of sources. Being one of those sources can win clicks even above the first organic result.
Why does the checker say "No overview"?
Google doesn't show an AI Overview for every search. It depends on the query, the country and language, and it changes over time. "No overview" means Google didn't show one for that keyword in that market when we checked.
