Semrush & Ahrefs alternative for rank tracking
A Cheaper Semrush Alternative Live rank tracking and AI visibility, without the $100+ monthly bill.
If what you mostly use Semrush or Ahrefs for is checking where you rank, you're paying for a whole suite to get one number. Keyword Rank Checker gives you that number live, for the raw cost of the data.

Honest fit
When KRC is the better choice, and when it isn't
- Choose KRC if you mainly need to know where your keywords rank, in specific countries or cities, and whether AI assistants recommend you.
- Choose KRC if you check rankings occasionally, for client reports, launches or audits, and hate paying for idle months.
- Choose KRC if you're a freelancer, small agency or Indian business priced out of US-dollar subscriptions.
- Stick with Semrush or Ahrefs if you need backlink analysis, competitor keyword gaps, site audits and a large keyword database every day.
Many teams do both: keep one suite seat for research, and use KRC for bulk, multi-market rank checks that would blow through plan limits.
The maths
What 500 keywords a week actually cost
- 500 keywords × 4 checks a month = 2,000 checks.
- At DataForSEO's rate, a check costs about 0.2¢ when you're on page one and up to about 2¢ when you're outside the top 100.
- That's roughly $4 to $40 a month, depending on how well you rank, with no plan to upgrade when you add keywords.

FAQ
Semrush alternative FAQ
Is there a free alternative to Semrush?
For rank tracking, yes: Keyword Rank Checker is free to use and you pay only the raw API cost per check, with no subscription. For backlinks and keyword research, free tools are more limited; Google Search Console covers your own site's data for free.
Is Keyword Rank Checker as accurate as Semrush?
Each check is a live Google search for the market and device you choose, through DataForSEO, the data provider many SEO tools are built on. Positions reflect Google at the moment you check.
What's the best cheap Ahrefs alternative for rank tracking?
If you need live positions without a monthly plan, KRC is built for exactly that. If you need daily automated tracking with history charts, a budget suite may suit you better.
Can I import my Semrush keyword list?
Yes. Export your keywords from Semrush or Ahrefs, paste them into the bulk rank checker, one per line, and run the check.
